Where are we?

Hi all and welcome, I’m just starting this website and have built her from the ground up, now what?

For one thing, I was thinking I needed a general news and info type section to keep people updated about whats going on, to provide some kind of basic information on how or why we do things, for a record of decisions or statements made and to keep my/our feet to the fire, but what to do?

Well, I’m going to be using this WordPress blog to jot down notes, to help the people that use this site and to hopefully help people get more out of life.

My hope is that it will help explain some of my thinking in the administration and maintenance of this site, let people in on the trails and errors of starting and running this website or any business and hopefully it well help people in other areas of life too. Of course we’re going to be talking abatch and small business issues and also about things like motivation, family and personal life and we’ll use it to aid in a dialog to improve the site for everyone.

Okay, one of the pains of doing things on the cheap, aka not being able to afford one or more full time coders, is that this blog and abatch’s classified ads are different programs. I started to build a blog myself so people would have just one sign-in. But after pondering adding things like RSS, getting as good or better SEO than a WordPress plugin I like called “All in One SEO” made by the guys at Semper Fi Web Design, a WordPress God send call Akismet for spam problems, security issues, organizational issues and duplicating some of WordPress’s other bells and whistles I decided to just go with WordPress. So to make a long paragraph short, there is one sign in if you want to enter abatch’s classified and another if you want to comment or write articles here in the abatch news & life.
